Expert Clinical Guidance for Lasting Recovery & Resilience.
A goal-oriented approach to healing for women, men, and children in NC, SC, MD, and VA.
My Approach: Evidence-Based Healing
Many people hesitate to start therapy because they fear it will be a never-ending cycle of 'just talking.' At Heal and Restore, I believe your time is valuable. My approach is structured, purposeful, and solution-focused.
I understand that you aren't just looking for someone to listen; you are looking for direction and progress. Whether we are navigating marital conflict or personal trauma, our sessions are purposeful and organized. By moving away from aimless talk and toward a goal-oriented strategy, I help you identify patterns quickly and implement real-world solutions that restore your relationships and your well-being.
I am Annette Thomas, LCSW, a licensed clinical social worker with over 15 years of clinical experience providing mental health services to children, adolescents, adults, and families.
My clinical background includes extensive work in school-based mental health, where I have supported students presenting with behavioral challenges, trauma histories, emotional dysregulation, and academic difficulties. This work has strengthened my ability to understand how emotional and behavioral concerns impact functioning across environments, including home, school, and relationships.
In my private practice work, I specialize in trauma-informed care and evidence-based interventions that support clients in processing adverse experiences, reducing symptoms of anxiety and depression, and developing healthier patterns of thinking and behavior. I work collaboratively with clients to increase insight, improve emotional regulation, and build practical coping strategies that support long-term change.
I also have a strong focus on women’s mental health, including burnout, stress management, relationship challenges, parenting stress, and unresolved trauma. My approach is direct, supportive, and grounded in clinical expertise, with an emphasis on helping clients move toward greater stability, clarity, and emotional functioning.
My goal is to provide a space that is structured, supportive, and clinically grounded—where clients can do meaningful work and make measurable progress in their mental health and overall well-being.
